Having never been to this area of Michigan, I searched boutique hotels, Airbnb's, and resorts for over a month, but I kept coming back to the Applesauce Inn, and we were certainly glad we did! We wanted something special for our 40th Wedding Anniversary; something centrally located to where we were able to take day trips to a different town each day, and something where we would feel at home. The Applesauce Inn provided all of the above and then some. The room we stayed in was so cozy and welcoming, and every need was thoughtfully met. The Innkeepers, Jamie and Gary, provided the best accommodations for our 7-day stay. Each morning, we were greeted with a scrumptious breakfast that looked like it was lifted from the pages of a gourmet magazine. Each evening, a delicious sweet treat was left to savor. There was always coffee, tea and water; even wine for an evening of relaxation. I cannot say enough about this bed and breakfast, or the Innkeepers, Jamie and Gary. They were so helpful in giving us ideas of where to visit or a restaurant to try in the area. "Come as strangers..... leave as friends. "

We have been staying at Applesauce Inn for the past 10 years each July when we do an organized bike ride around Torch Lake. Jamie is an outstanding host. This B&B is so cozy and inviting - it’s like coming home. Her breakfast is always very creative, definitely farm to table, and so so delicious. We love waking up to the smell of fresh brewed local roaster coffee, and the wafting smells from the kitchen where she makes magic happen. Jamie gives us the same room every year, its is squeaky clean and the bed is oh so comfy. This is a place where I don’t mind walking barefoot…It’s that clean. We love Jamie and her welcoming hug each year!!

My wife and I took a mini 4 day vacation, and this place is amazing! We are not even done with our trip, and we are super excited to return for another stay. Gary and Jamie are very welcoming and kind hosts. You can tell they take great pride in making experiences here for their guests as special and unique as possible. We had the pleasure of talking with them for a bit, and we could tell they love this area. Everything from places to go, food to try, drinks to be had and places to see; they also have a relationship with the friends and family in the area that gives a very "welcome home" feeling. The rooms are individually decorated, and there's lots of items here that bring back memories from my childhood. Every morning, there's coffee and a beautiful breakfast to start your day. The owners live on site, but you would never know it. They are very respectful of your space but are available at any time if anything is needed. The house is from the early 1900s, so it has the farmhouse charm. However, it is very well maintained and in surprisingly great shape (I'm a builder, so I notice these things). There's plenty of space to spread out outdoors; wrap around porch, bonfire pit, pergola, picnic tables, chicken coop, a bit of acreage to walk around and plenty of wildlife to see like humming birds, squirrels and raccoons (aka trash bandits). Town is very close by, and there's plenty to do in this area if you're not just lounging around. You can tell by the nearly 100% 5 star reviews that this place is highly ranked. We have had an amazing time, and you can see from the other reviews that people have great experiences here. This place can be a quiet getaway or an adventure with friends and family; it's completely your choice!

My 8yr old was treated to a tiara to cap.off her princess experience. The food was wonderful homemade tomato soup and traditional tea sandwiches, the egg salad was the surprisingly best sandwich. It was topped with a cornichon on a croissant. There was a lot more food than I expected, we brought home leftovers. There was board games to play and the service was very attentive and kind. The tea was so amazing! A local blend, from Bellaire which I am not ashamed to say we immediately went into town to buy. What a treasure. What an experience. Love love love

The BEST B&B ever! Come hungry - you will get an absolutely delicious from scratch breakfast, desserts every evening, and cozy accommodations for your Northern MI stay. We had the place to ourselves and got upgraded to the large main floor suite with a private bath (the tub was great to warm up after a cold hike). The most adorable decor and a giant beverage station to keep our thirst quenched. Our new go-to in Bellaire!

We stayed at the Applesauce Inn Bed & Breakfast; and we loved it. What a very beautiful little place. Very exquisite fine tastes. Very beautifully decorated. Love all of the antiques. Jamie & Gary are a very sweet couple. They are very warm & welcoming, accommodating, very helpful with everything. Very peaceful location, easy to get to local areas like Torch Lake etc. You must stop at Rooted about 10 minutes away. Cool little gift shop with coffee, tea, milkshakes, ice cream & more! Jamie has her own products to sell as well that are very sweet! Jamie does a great job at everything she does. She makes great breakfast items!. The home is just absolutely extravagant & remarkable. The room we stayed in was the Napa Room. The room reminded me of a beachy farmhouse antique feel. Love the furniture & the bathroom. Love the entire house! The property is well maintained and has very exquisite tastes in everything. Love the chickens outside, nature; and the two cats that visited with us. The property is so beautiful. We loved it. The breakfasts and baked goods are consistently amazing! The hosts are so warm, welcoming and gracious. They offer so much wonderful information for things to do in the area. We’ve gone snowshoeing, antiquing, hiking, boating, etc during our stays. Although we’ve stayed during all seasons, Christmas is my favorite. Jamie does such a beautiful job decorating the B&B. Jamie is a very kind, compassionate host. She is an amazing cook and the farm fresh breakfasts are always top notch - as well as her desserts, which you can look forward to coming back to every evening. The farmhouse is amazingly loved, lived in, and decorated with so many intricate and antique items. The extras we had such as the afternoon tea and charcuterie board were great, and most of her food/meat/poultry/vegetables/fruits are all locally grown or grown in her own backyard. This was our first B&B experience and Jamie and her husband Gary set the bar really high! We booked a stay to just be able to relax for our wedding anniversary and staying at the Applesauce Inn was exactly what we needed. Everything was very clean and well kept and the breakfast and treats were amazing. We also felt like we were treated like family which was so comforting. I really appreciated that Jamie cooked gluten free where applicable and that she told us where our food was sourced from (locally, mostly!). We have already recommended it to some friends and family if they're ever in the area and we look forward to booking another stay hopefully in the future!
